Directors & Officers Coverage
A Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance policy is an important policy for the leadership of youth and amateur sports teams and leagues.
A Directors & Officers policy is a separate policy that covers willful acts made by board members of the organization (as opposed to negligent acts, which are covered under the general liability).
Willful acts include claims of libel, slander, discrimination against a coach or player, wrongful dismissal of a coach or volunteer, or acts beyond the authority of the organization.
The D&O insurance company will pay for legal fees and court costs to defend the lawsuit against the group, and any individually named board members, and any settlement / judgment, up to the policy limits.
The standard limit for D&O policies provided by eSportsInsurance is $1,000,000 per Occurrence / $1,000,000 Aggregate with a $1,000 deductible.
For claims alleging negligence that results in bodily injury or property damage, the General Liability policy will pay to defend the claim, even if the claim is lodged against one of directors of officers of the group.
